Life with kids in St George
This cosy Kogarah cafe serves up food so beautiful you may not want to eat it! Close to St George Hospital it's also a perfect spot to recharge after an appointment - expectant mumma's we're talking to you! ;)
February 2015: I discovered Culture Bean Cafe in Kogarah when I was pregnant and making regular visits to St George Hospital for midwife appointments... and thank goodness I did! It makes the business of hospital trips so much more pleasant when they give you the perfect excuse to stop at cafe as lovely as this.
The food at Culture Bean Cafe in Kogarah is art! You may have seen photos of their famous Acai Bowl popping up all over instagram and it's understandable why. The good news is this dish tastes as amazing as it looks.
For the kids there are smoothie options, muesli, toasted sandwiches or classic scrambled eggs to keep them happy. There's also a huge array of baked treats and delicious cinnamon scrolls and cronuts - perfect for an after hospital appointment treat!
We visited recently with Miss 9 Months and the staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. There are plenty of high chairs and lots of room outside for prams. Inside is a little cosy so best grab a spot on the sidewalk in the shade if you do bring the pram.
The cafe can get busy as it's very popular with locals and the hospital staff, but when we visited at 9am on a Sunday there were plenty of tables and the vibe was nice and relaxed.
Parking can be a little tricky given the Culture Bean Cafe's location near the hospital, but if you head straight to Derby Street there is a multi level ️Carpark for just $1 an hour.
Culture Bean Cafe Kogarah is a great little cafe that's definitely worth a visit… particularly for all you pregnant mumma's heading to the hospital who deserve a treat and some R&R!!
