Life with kids in St George
Hits the trifecta - beach, cafe and plane spotting! (Not to mention playgrounds, picnic areas and cycleways!!)
A picturesque waterside setting with lots of big trees for shade, Peter Depena Reserve is a local favourite and an idyllic spot for families with its white sand, fabulous views and facilities for children.
It's an ideal family park with free electric BBQs, picnic shelters and park seating. There's a shaded playground for the little ones, ample toilets, a climbing structure for the bigger ones, open space for ball games and a fantastic bike track for scooters, bikes and skateboards. If you keep on the bike track for a few kilometres, you'll get to Cook Park.
The sea can get a bit rough here so it's a good spot for sand play and watching the various water sports taking place. It's a popular spot for kite flying so be sure to take yours along. There's a cafe nearby which sells ice-cream for those hot days.
