Rockdale's newest addition is an elegant chocolate bar serving up decadent sweet treats to keep any child (or adult) happy!
When we heard that a chocolate bar was moving into the site that had been home to Curves Fitness in Rockdale we had to smile! The prime corner position that Sir Braxton Chocolate Bar now occupies suggests nothing of its former life and has been transformed into an eclectic cafe space featuring ample tables, dark antique style couches and a gorgeous curved lounge area that's crying out for a mother's group to visit.
The space Sir Braxton occupies is quite large but the dark furniture and walls helps to make the space feel more intimate - it also means navigating the area with a pram could be tricky, especially on a busy day. If you can, leave the pram in the car (Sir Braxton is very close to the council car park on top of Target) and try to snag one of the lounge areas where you can spread out.
On offer is a tempting range of sweet treats, so perhaps ordering the salad wasn't the best way to test out the menu, but it was perfect for a warm summer day. Everything coming out of the kitchen looked delicious, especially anything that came with chocolate, and we'll definitely go back to try out more of the house specialties.
If you're in need of a gift or you just want to take away a few chocolates there's a lovely range available to take home.
We had been warned that service was a little slow, which is understandable given Sir Braxton is so new, but our meal came out very quickly and the service was extremely friendly and accommodating. There were plenty of high chairs and Miss 9 Months had a ball people watching while we enjoyed lunch.
There's plenty of outdoor seating and Sir Braxton is open for late night trading. It feels like a great place to be able to take school age children for something sweet and a chat. Sir Braxton is a great new option to try out and add into the mix when you're next visiting Rockdale!
